Pieces of the fax cloud appear to be clumping together....Looks like j2 Global is gobbling up market share, but is there anything else Metrofax brings to the table? The Press Release has limited details.
More to come?

Retarus Blog says it all about sexiness (or not) of Fax...
I added a comment to this nice blog post from our friends at Retarus messaging services. I'm not trying to steal their thunder, but I've said it many times before myself. I'll say it again: I think any company or any person who feels that working on anything related to fax or secure messaging is stale and boring - then you've missed the point. The HUGE savings in costs, efficiency improvements, while greatly improving document messaging security is THE main point of electronic faxing and document distribution.
First, FoIP was there to make it sound "sexy", but now add in the benefits of the "cloud" and well....maybe fax isn't looking so bad these days!!!
Here's my quoted comment and a link to their blog...well said Retarus!

A message near and
dear to my heart. Those who know me have heard me say similar things: Fax sure
isn't sexy, but massive cost savings without giving up reliability and security
certainly is!!

SecureiX from Open Text
Open Text takes secure information exchange to a new level with the introduction of SecureiX. I think this is great news and a step forward for many reasons.
As a matter of fact, according to Matthew Brine's recent blog post, SecureiX, "complements our leading fax solutions and is a significant advancement on our RightFax SecureDocs offering...".
This is very exciting, and he goes on to say, "If you are familiar with RightFax’s vast integration abilities then you can feel confident that our plan is to replicate RightFax’s strengths...". he continues, "It is also our plan to add fax, SMS and voice notification technology to SecureiX over time.
Check out the following links:
